Every maker needs website analytics. Just take mine!

Admittedly, mine is much more complex, but this one is meant to be usable by everyone. Feel free to adapt it to your needs. If it helps one of you, it was worth it.

Why I built it

I tried several analytics tools. Some did not do what I needed, some cost too much, and some were plastered with ads. So I built my own.

No cookies. No cookie banner for it.

The script stores nothing in your visitors' browsers: no cookies, no local storage. No IP address is saved, not even shortened. A visitor is counted with a one-way token that changes every day. So the tracking itself needs no consent banner, and your cookie policy stays as it is.

You still name the tool in your privacy policy. A ready-made paragraph is in the package. This is not legal advice.

What it records

The page, the host of the referring site, the device class and a visitor token that changes every day. It never records a cookie, an IP address or a country.

Where your data lives

In your own database, on your own web space. Nothing is sent to LaunchAmp.

Reports in the style of Google Analytics, with highlights, sources including AI assistants, and funnels for your goals.

Three steps to install

  1. Upload the folder to your web space.
  2. Open install.php in your browser. It asks for your database and creates your login.
  3. Paste one line into your pages. Visits show up in the dashboard.

A hosted version is planned

If you would rather not run it yourself, we are planning a hosted version. Leave your e-mail address and we will write to you once, when it is ready.

We store your e-mail address, the time you agreed and a hashed form of your IP address (to limit abuse). Nothing else, and no mail is sent apart from the one message above. See the privacy policy.

Questions

Does it contact LaunchAmp?
No. The package never contacts LaunchAmp or anyone else: no licence check, no update check, no telemetry.
What if I lose my web space?
Download it again from your account and install it again. Your data is in your database.
Updates?
There are no updates: no new features. Bug and security fixes come only as a new download in your account.
Do I need a cookie banner?
Not for the tracking: it sets no cookies and stores no IP address. You are the controller of your visitors' data, so you still mention the tool in your privacy policy; a ready-made paragraph is included. This is not legal advice.
What do I need?
PHP 8.1 or newer, MySQL or MariaDB, and a folder on your web space.
Will there be a hosted version?
It is planned. Leave your address on the list above and we write once, when it is ready.
